Documentary – The virus of violence
IDEA 1;
Where do we draw the moral line?
The Virus of Violence
Desensitization vs. Resensitization
Issues discussed, and explored in the documentary;
What I would like to explore is the thin, and very important line of desensitzation of violence, or a selective insensitivity towards violence. The point would not to focus on whether onscreen violence, can effectively cause its audience to become violent, but to explore whether selective sensitivity begins to develop, as fictional and simulated violence is screened to us. What is important to note is that because a teenager laughs whilst seeing a game character being relentlessly beaten, is not to say that he is equally insensitive if witnesning his mother, for example being beaten by his father.
I HAVE POSTED 2 DISCUSSION TOPICS ON ‘YAHOO ANSWERS’ ALLOWING AN INTERACTIVE DEVELOPMENT IN THE PROCESS OF GENERATING IDEAS FOR THE PROJECT.
AUDIENCE – Although I currently have an idea for a TV programme which I would like to develop further, I thought it wise to involve audiences, and hear from the ‘horses mouth’ what programmes they would like to see on their screens. By doing this, I am able to see whether the content I wish to develop targets ‘todays audience’, whilst also allowing me to explore other avenues.

CONTENT- I asked, people to share their views on simulated and fictional violence, and the effect this may, or may not have on society’s percepetion of violence.

I like that you are crowd-sourcing ideas, although I would rather have hard science, history and social analysis in a documentary about desensitisation effects of screen violence.
Your diagram is very interesting.
