Cross Platform – Let’s Collaborate
Collaboration is the name of the game!
PROGRAMME
Acquiring a job in current circumstances is hard enough, yet alone a career within the Film and TV industry. Let’s collaborate, takes a selection of characters from different educational levels, ranging from College, University, to recent Freelancers who are determined to succeed within the Industry. Setting an example that all levels are able to achieve their goal, the selection of age groups, and a contrast of qualified levels, will display the various creative inputs, knowledge, and technical ‘know how’. What will be tested throughout the show, are the various tests of collaboration with different people, and role reversals of the contrasting groups, which will challenege many of the characters strengths and weaknesses.
WEBSITE
The website will be crucial to the show, and equally as important as the show develops, and even when it ends. Online users will be given two options when visiting the website, to either sign up to a Membership, or access the standard webpages.
Membership – Online viewers will be given the option to sign up to a small fee (e.g. £5-00) which will allow a profile to be created for the member, voting for each episode of the series, and a privilege pass to the interactive forum where there will be Industry Professionals, and an opportunity to talk with other members who are interested in progressing within the Film and TV Industry. The website will be crucial in allowing networking to develop, and allow Film-Makers to contact other members for possible collaborations, and advice. Would be ideal for students/new-entrants embarking in the world of Film and TV.
Non-Membership – There will also be a non-membership access to the website, ensuring that all are able to interact with the programme on some level. This will allow comments to be made about the programme, catch up on programmes missed, view profiles of the candidates on the show, and discussion boards.
The website will be used to engage with the contestants on the show, provide ideas, and as the name suggests, collaborate in anyway possible. It will be an opportunity for ‘hints and tips’ to be exchanged, engage in networking, and will be a good opportunity for employers within the Industry to view the talent that has taken interest in the show, and interactive engagement that follows.
Similar dynamic to the ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘Get me the Producer, Let’s Collaborate hopes to add additional platforms to allow a ‘viral’ interaction to be developed between the contestants and viewers/audience.
It will be a 6 part series, with avenues of multi-platform supporting the show 24/7, which will continue when the show has ended. The purpose of the show will be to develop an interaction between the viewers, and the contestants, whilst providing an insight into the challenges, difficulties and most importantly the joys and perks of working within the Film and Television Industry. Collaboration is crucial within any business, especially the Film and Television industry. This show will demmomstrate the importance of this skill, and the talent that needs to support this.
There will be 3 groups of contestants:
- Students
- New Entrants/Graduates
- Freelancers.
1/6 – Film-Makers meet…….
Introduction to characters, Task one will be set for the groups.
Task 1 will involve collaboration with the online viewers/members who have signed up for the membership. This will not be evident to online members immediately. The nominated members will be selected due to their specialised skill/job. Three members, One for each group. The challenge for the Film-Makers will be to collaborate with the selected member, and create a 3 minute project collaboration the skills of the participant and that of the contestants. It will not be for the group members to determine who has one, rather the vote will be put back to an interactive online vote.
2/6 – - Role Reversal.
Task.2 -
Below is a cross-platform diagram that the show and website will generate:

I am not sure what it is that we will see in the TV series. The website sounds like a service to help people get work in film and TV. I can see how it would be useful for the target audience but I don’t really know how you will get the busy industry professionals that would benefit them onto the service.
It would probably help if you created a couple of personas and walked them through the exeperience.
